Area Sales Manager, Indonesia, Flow Control Business Line, APAC

Are you a dynamic and results-driven professional with a passion for driving business growth, if so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Area Sales Manager, Indonesia.

We are looking for an experienced, technical sales professional who has a proven track record from Oil and Gas downstream, Pulp and Paper, Mining, Metals and Power or other process industry to drive our sales in Indonesia. The role includes an overall sales responsibility directly to our end users, EPC and OEM´s and through existing channel partners. Your target is to drive our business growth and customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will report to the Director, Sales and Services, Indonesia. This position will be located in Jakarta Indonesia.

Job Description

  • Sales, Marketing & Business development of Valmet Flow Control business.
  • Achieve targeted sales & order volumes with required profit level.
  • Ensure necessary product approvals with End-Users, OEM’s, EPC’s etc. vendor lists.
  • Map the market; business potential and identify business development initiatives.
  • Plan & execute annual action plans.
  • Create and develop high level customer contacts.
  • Develop strong distributor network for Valmet Flow Control products.
  • Co-ordinate customer seminars, events, and other marketing initiatives to strengthen branding.
  • Follow business trends & competitors' action, and report & implement necessary action.
  • Technical reviews of inquiry documents and capability to reply on technical queries.
  • Capability to negotiate profitable contacts in compliance to Valmet T&C’s.
  • To build and maintain an active network of strong working relationships in Valmet and customers. Identifies and meets potential customers to ascertain equipment, supplies, and service needs.
  • To demonstrate a high level of HSE mindset and knowledge about HSE procedures and practices, applying this knowledge as a part of daily work routine.
  • Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for the metal and mining sector in Indonesia.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with mining companies, processing plants, and EPC contractors.

  • Promote Neles’ valve automation, control, and maintenance solutions tailored to mineral processing, slurry handling, and water systems.

  • Achieve or exceed annual sales targets, profitability, and market share goals.

  • Account Management

  • Manage and grow relationships with key accounts (mining operators, smelters, EPCs).

  • Conduct regular site visits to understand operational needs, present solutions, and resolve issues.

  • Work closely with service teams to ensure after-sales support, maintenance contracts, and spare parts supply.

  • Technical & Solution Selling

  • Provide technical consultation on Neles products and solutions for mining processes (slurry lines, tailings, flotation, water systems, etc.).

  • Collaborate with application engineers to prepare proposals, technical documentation, and pricing.

  • Deliver presentations and product demonstrations to technical and procurement teams

Requirements:

  • Education: degree in engineering (electrical/electronic/control& instrumentation, preferred), and 10 years sales experience of various equipment in Valves, automation Industry.
  • Strong understanding of Flow Control industry and existing experience from valve customers is of necessity. Market and customer experience & exposure to Oil & Gas, Refining & Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper and Mining and Metals will be preferred.
  • Strong networking and sales skills
  • Ability to build and leverage effective working relationships in a matrix organization.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Indonesia Flow Control market knowledge.
