A Bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining accurate financial records for an organization. This includes managing day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, processing invoices and payments, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. The Bookkeeper plays a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Financial Transactions
- Record all financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Enter data into accounting software or ledgers accurately and in a timely manner.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Issue and track invoices to customers (Accounts Receivable).
- Receive and verify invoices from suppliers and prepare payments (Accounts Payable).
- Follow up on outstanding payments and manage aging reports.
Bank & Account Reconciliation
- Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare basic financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support the accountant or finance manager with reporting and audits.
Filing & Documentation
- Maintain orderly and up-to-date financial files and records (digital or physical).
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations.
Month-End & Year-End Support
- Assist with closing procedures including journal entries and adjustments.
- Help prepare documents and reports for external auditors or tax authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record-keeping.
- Good understanding of financial regulations and confidentiality requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
