The Business Studies Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering and assessing effective learning programs in Business Studies for secondary school students. The teacher fosters critical thinking, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and an understanding of business principles while supporting students academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in a way that students can comprehend.
Prepare students for all examination papers: Paper 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Make use of differentiated offline and online resources relevant to the subject.
Provide timely feedback and academic support to students, communicate regularly with homeroom teachers, provide update of students' progress to the parents.
Monitor student progress and contribute to academic planning and reporting.
Stay current with business trends and assessment systems.
Participate in school events, either as PIC or committee member.
Develop ideas in the form of extra curricular activities that can cater to students' needs. Developing teaching and learning program.
Maintaining good relationship with parents, staff and other professionals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's/Master's degree from a reputable university in Business, Economics, or related course.
Min. 2 years of working experience in school with International Curriculum (IGCSE, As/A-Level/IB) is required.
Familiarity with Cambridge A Level Business (9609) along with the assessment systems.
Strong Business concepts and terminologies.
Strong command of case study teaching methodology and in-depth application of business theories to real-world and hypothetical situations.
Ability to guide students in analysis case studies and write structured responses.
Skills in differentiated instructions to cater to different student abilities.
Excellent classroom management.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, fluent in both Bahasa and English.
Competence in digital tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and/or learning management systems (GClassroom, Kahoot, Quizizz, etc.)
Enthusiasm for business news/trends to bring historical/current relevance into lessons.
