Context:
Established in 1951, IOM, as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners and is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.
Operational in Indonesia for more than 40 years, IOM Indonesia is one of the largest IOM missions in the world working on a wide range of activities in partnership with the Government of Indonesia, civil society, private sector actors, migrants and communities. IOM Indonesia is engaged in several thematic areas, including: Immigration and Border Governance (IBG), Mobility and Resilience (MR), Refugee Care, Migration Health, Migration Governance and Resettlement and Voluntary Returns.
Operating within the Mobility and Resilience Unit, IOM’s Labour Mobility, Social Inclusion, and Counter Trafficking (LMSI/CT) sub-unit has been contributing to Indonesia’s well-managed migration pathways. The core work and principles of the programme looks at building the capacity of relevant stakeholders including government partners and non-governmental organizations on labour migration and trafficking issues; supporting the development of policies, legislation, and administrative structures that foster efficient and transparent labour migration flows, promote the prevention and prosecution of TIP cases, as well as ensure the protection of key beneficiaries; facilitating safe and fair labour migration through pre-employment, embarkation preparedness, human rights due diligence, and enhancing migrant workers’ access to grievance mechanism and remediation; generating evidences to support well managed labour migration policies.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of LMSI/CT sub-unit and the direct supervision of Project Associate, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the implementation and monitoring of the relevant LMSI/CT programmes/projects.
Assist in data collection and analysis related to overview of trafficking in persons, people smuggling, labor migration, human rights, and responsible business practices.
Assist to prepare research reports and policy documents based on findings.
Assist in note-taking, reporting from meetings and workshops, and translating materials between Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Support in drafting and designing content for visibility products, social media, project info sheets, press releases, presentations, and newsletters.
Provide logistical and administrative support for training and workshops for the unit’s partners.
Assist in developing monitoring and evaluation tools and reporting tools, such as through trackers and survey forms.
Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities.
Support in preparing progress reports and document activity outcomes.
Assist in consolidating data for project reports, graphics, and presentations.
Provide logistical and administrative support for project activities and events and case management team.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
In the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) or recent graduate of Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Science, Law, Communication or a related field;
Applicants who are enrolled in a second university degree (graduate school/equivalent) or have graduated with a university degree within one year of graduation
EXPERIENCE
Indonesian National with good knowledge and understanding of migration issues in Indonesia context is an advantage.
Previous experience in developing social media contents, publication, and drafting article will be highly considered.
Prior research/working experience in the field of social science, migration studies, communication, international relation is an advantage.
Relevant professional or volunteer experience with United Nations, civil society organization or volunteer groups, is an advantage.
Experience in advocacy works, data analysis, MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) and project management is also desirable.
Familiar with P4 (Public Private People Partnership) approach.
SKILLS
Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
Proficiency to use basic office softwares (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and demonstrate sensitivity to gender and diversity issues.
Show initiatives and ability to work under appropriate supervision.
Willing to learn new knowledge and issues.
Good personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, analytical and creative thinking.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
For this position, fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required (oral and written).
