ING Bank covers Wholesale and Retail Banking in Asia Pacific. Our Wholesale Banking business is present and active in 11 major economies in the Asia Pacific, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Job Profile Summary

Leads a geographical part of the business and directs the WB operations and resources to drive and deliver results by translating the WB strategy into local policies and ways of working. Ensures correct execution by aligning and partnering with the functions in a country to build long-term value and drive country/geography results.

Job Responsibilities:

Representative Office Management and Compliance

• Chair Country Management Committee.
• Overall management of people, premises and communications.
• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Representative office, including ensuring compliance with all local regulatory requirements and global ING policies relevant to all activities of the Representative Office.
• Responsible for identifying possible risks impacting the Representative Office operations (including non-financial risks). Assess, report and mitigate risks within the agreed time period.  
• Maintain effective relationships with all regulatory and government agencies.
• Be a local expert on all matters relating to the local market, including market and regulatory developments, credit changes, social and political changes and interpretation and dissemination of this information internally.

Relationship Management

• Introduce ING Bank and its capabilities & product offering whilst ensuring sound and prudent business management in accordance with statutory, regulatory and ING Bank governance requirements.
• Identify, build and maintain corporate client relationships, including providing input in client account planning, for and on behalf of ING Bank NV and in line with the regulatory parameters of Indonesia Representative Office, including those as imposed by the authorities e.g., Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (“OJK”). 
• Support business with a select group of Indonesian corporates, international clients with presence in Indonesia, Financial Institution (“FI”) and Non-Bank FI clients for their activities in Indonesia. Support Indonesian corporates investing in countries where ING has the network by connecting them with ING teams. This is to be achieved by coordination with different Sector Coverage/Clients teams and Product groups located in Singapore or any other ING offices.
• To help in monitoring projects that are financed by ING Bank head office or its overseas branches as they relate to Indonesia.
• To assist ING Bank head office or its overseas branches in KYC (Know your customer)/ CDD (Customer due diligence) process, especially related to correspondence, obtaining information and translation of documents for Indonesian corporates.
• To attend the relevant internal committee calls/meetings and provide local market information and associated input when required.
• Join or be involved in relevant industry associations/chambers of commerce to foster networking and achieve market awareness.

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 15 years wholesale banking experience and preferably about 5 years in a senior banking role.
• Strong knowledge of wholesale banking products and services (Corporate lending, project finance, structured export finance, acquisition/bridge finance, debt capital markets, financial markets, hedging, corporate or project advisory, etc.), as well as banking regulations and policies.
• Strong strategic business planning and execution skills with good business acumen, and sound commercial (Corporate credit and non-financial) risk judgments.
• Broad understanding of relevant industry sectors (e.g., Energy/Renewables, Telecom Media Technology & Healthcare, Infrastructure, Metal & Mining, Consumer, Food & Agri, Banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions).
• Have access to and/or prior relationships with key market players (e.g. local conglomerates, local and international corporates, state-owned enterprises, financial institutions, export credit agencies, etc.) and be very familiar with the market dynamics in Indonesia.
• Experience in dealing with senior management within organizations, with peers, clients as well as regulators.
• Strong capability to develop and maintain relationships & networks.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia (both spoken and written).
