Position Overview
WorldRef is seeking a passionate and driven Local Sales Representative to join our global sales team and contribute to expanding our presence in the East African markets through a hybrid work model. This role is key to linking local industry clients with WorldRef’s extensive global supplier network, enhancing cross-border procurement and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and industrial clients.
- Generate leads and qualify prospects through market research, networking, referrals, and outreach activities.
- Present, promote, and sell WorldRef’s products and services using solid arguments to prospective and existing customers.
Client Relationship Management
- Establish, develop, and manage strong business relationships with local clients.
- Act as a key liaison between WorldRef’s global platform and local customers, understanding client needs and recommending suitable solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales cycle, ensuring prompt resolution of queries and issues.
Cross-Border Procurement Support
- Facilitate international sales transactions, including coordinating with WorldRef’s supplier networks, logistics, and operations teams.
- Ensure smooth integration of local market needs with WorldRef’s global sourcing solutions.
Market Intelligence
- Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments within local industrial sector.
- Share market insights and customer feedback to optimize WorldRef’s offerings for local clients.
Skills & Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in B2B industrial sales, procurement, or international trade (preferred).
- Understanding of local industrial markets (mechanical, electrical, process industries, etc.).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
- Tech-savvy with a willingness to learn new platforms and digital tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build lasting business relationships.
- Integrity, transparency, and a focus on delivering value to customers.
