Role purpose

As an Operations Manager, you will provide leadership input in shaping GHD’s future in this growing region for years to come which will include connecting the best of over 45 service lines across GHD’s global markets business.

These opportunities will enable you to build market led strategic pursuits for GHD and provide commercial support on major pursuits which grow major client accounts and provide for material increase in potential downstream services. You will get to support global strategy delivery and provide professional leadership, mentoring and development in the region.

This will be an impactful role in shaping the work environment in our new Indonesia office. You will have the autonomy to bring your ideas and suggestions to life with high visibility working with the Leadership team.

Key duties

• Provide leadership and management support to business activities and guidance to GHDs Indonesia practice consistent with GHD’s values and business needs.
• Assess market trends and identify future market opportunities (short term and greater than six months forward) and work to convert into future projects.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, Project Directors and Project Managers, key stakeholders, GHD APAC leadership and peers.
• Contribute to market opportunity pipelines by leading effective business development activities, leveraging internal and external relationships.
• Provide technical direction, guidance and experience on tenders, bids, proposals, projects and initiatives.
• Deliver projects in the role of Project Manager and/or Project Director.
• Actively contribute to thought leadership as an industry leader.
• Collaborate with leadership teams and colleagues throughout APAC Business and wider enterprise to effectively plan and resource projects and pursuits.
• Assist in the identification and procurement of and onboarding process for new hires.

Performance indicators

• Targeted and timely response to client tenders and proactive proposals to clients both current and future.
• Demonstrated alignment and contribution to the preparation and delivery of GHD’s Indonesia business and Business Group Business plan.
• Personal annual net revenue target as guided by Indonesia Country Manager Target to be reset annually within the scope of the GHD’s staff review program.
• Manage Indonesia Business Group performance to achieve required KPIs that collectively deliver Regional performance that meet GHD’s expectations and complies with GHD’s operating procedures.
• Delivery of project commitments on time and on budget as agreed with relevant PM/PD, Business Group Leader and/or Country Manager.

Experience and knowledge

• Demonstrated business leadership experience in contracting, consulting or client-side experience within the infrastructure industry across one or more of the following sectors: energy, resources, environment, water or waste.
• Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline. Candidates with a background in Engineering or a technical planning discipline will be well regarded.
• High level client relationship management skills including experience in business development activities leading to positive and tangible outcomes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesian. Any additional language skills will be a bonus.
• An ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment and across geographies.
