As an early member of the Finance and Administration team, you will have a critical impact on building a streamlined and efficient finance and administrative process through a combination of outsourcing and system development/implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to drive efficiency from the very beginning and be a part of experimenting and implementing state-of-the-art and leading-edge processes and technologies.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the finance and accounting functions of the company from an offshore location. This role involves various accounting tasks, financial reporting, and analysis, working closely with the onshore finance team.
Some of the items you will be doing include:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, expense tracking, and revenue coding in compliance with GAAP.
- Draft and send invoices, process vendor payments, and code incoming bills with accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries from clients and team members via accounting inboxes.
- Use QuickBooks Online to record transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports; assist in the migration of data from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite.
- Support payroll processing through the company’s PEO.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting, providing operational clarity.
- Assist with audit preparation, external reporting, and quarterly customer folder management.
- Participate in process improvements, documentation of procedures, and implementation of best practices.
- Learn and adapt to new platforms and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Carta, Expensify) as the company grows.
- Take initiative on additional projects to support the finance team and improve processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; Big 4 background highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and at least 1+ year of proven experience with NetSuite; CRM experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and the month-end close process.
- Proven experience in a core accounting role with a strong focus on operational tasks.
- Strong communication skills (C1-level English or higher) to interact effectively with team members and clients, especially in a remote environment.
- Experience working with international finance teams and familiarity with U.S. tax seasons.
- Proficient in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.) with the ability to adopt new software quickly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on new tasks and learn quickly.
- Availability to work U.S. business hours and observe U.S. holidays.
