Job Description:
The Area Sales Supervisor – General Trade or Food Service is responsible for executing sales strategies, managing daily operations in the assigned territory, and driving performance of sales teams or distributor partners. This role ensures effective product distribution, availability, visibility, and promotion execution across General Trade (GT) or Food Service (FS) channels. The position requires close collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to achieve sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a network of retailers, wholesalers, or Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) customers in the assigned area.
- Supervise and motivate a team of Sales Representatives, Canvassers, or Merchandisers to achieve sales, distribution, and visibility targets.
- Ensure proper execution of trade marketing activities, promotions, and in-store branding.
- Monitor outlet performance, product availability, and market share in the territory.
- Track and analyze daily/weekly sales performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with distributor sales staff (if any) to ensure stock availability, timely delivery, and route compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with key outlets or food service partners and handle customer feedback or service issues.
- Ensure execution of pricing, credit policy, and product assortment in line with company guidelines.
- Support in gathering market intelligence on competitors, customer trends, and pricing activities.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales and activity reports to the Area Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in General Trade or Food Service sales, preferably in FMCG, food & beverage, or related industries.
- Experience in managing a sales team or leading field operations is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, results-driven, and detail-oriented.
- Willing to travel within the assigned area and work in the field daily.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with sales reporting tools is a plus.
