About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative expert to lead the development and execution of Single Use and Integrated Platform Solutions (SUIPS) for the biopharmaceutical industry. This role is responsible for delivering technically and commercially sound integrated solutions, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and ensuring seamless execution in line with Merck’s global standards.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, project leadership experience, and a collaborative mindset to enable customer-centric innovations across biologics modalities, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), Vaccines, Classical Pharma, and Cell/gene therapy (CGT).
- Develop and implement cross-functional SUIPS solutions that align with customer requirements and expand step share of Merck’s Process Solutions portfolio.
- Partner with sales and field teams to co-develop strategies, manage key customer projects, and ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Work closely with stakeholders in Manufacturing, MSAT, Field Service, Technical Support, Marketing and other Customer Applications team members to ensure smooth project management and execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems, bioprocess technologies, and automation trends. Engage with external industry bodies (e.g., ISPE, PDA) to enhance Merck’s market presence.
- Collaborate with APeC regional and global leadership to implement business strategies and achieve market penetration goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation, update CRM tools like Salesforce.com, and provide regular competitive intelligence, best practice, and progress reports to senior leadership.
- Some travel may also be required to attend training and development, or nurture opportunities across Southeast Asia.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
Minimum 10 years
of relevant experience in bioprocessing and proven experience in complex opportunities.- Strong understanding of both stainless steel and single-use systems, as well as related consumables.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with Single Use and/or system hardware
- In-depth knowledge of biopharma production processes and technologies: mAbs, Vaccines, Classical Pharma, ADCs, CGT.
- Additional qualifications in Business, Marketing, or Project Management.
