About the Role
This position is accounted to lead and monitor the local statutory and capital management team in delivering the financials insight to the key stakeholders through financial projections and studies, accurate valuation model and reports, and to monitor the solvency position and asset and liability management within AIA risk management framework.Key Roles & Responsibility:
Statutory Valuation:
- Provide strategic input on the financials insight analysis under local statutory basis.
- Review technical working papers and ensure proper controls and documentation of valuation procedures.
Product Implementation Oversight:
- Provide strategic input to the end-to-end actuarial support for new product implementation, including requirement gathering (UR), user acceptance testing (UAT), and coordination with Product and IT teams for valuation extract readiness.
- Manage the product filling process and ensure well-articulated communication on both product and pricing principles with OJK.
Model Management & Governance:
- Lead enhancements and governance of Prophet models related to policyholder dividend studies and ensure robust model documentation and validation.
- Provide strategic input into assumption setting and PAD (Provision for Adverse Deviation) analysis, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory expectations.
Financial Projection & Regulatory Reporting:
- Drive the preparation and review of financial projections for Strategic Planning, OJK Business Plan and Appointed Actuary Report.
Dividend Studies & Assumption Study Oversight:
- Supervise annual policyholder dividend recommendation studies, including profitability and surplus allocation analysis.
Capital Management:
- Lead the capital management model development and projections, including for the purpose of SAA/TAA proposal, ALCO management and cash allocations, to deliver accurate and quality analysis and financial insights in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory requirement and AIA governance.
- Identify and highlight business issues and financial risks related to capital management and make recommendations based on technical expertise and industry knowledge.
- Propose recommendation on technical strategies and plans related to capital management that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results.
Control & Governance:
- Manage continuous improvements in actuarial controls & governance, including process enhancements, control awareness and automations.
- Ensure audit findings are addressed promptly, and controls are enhanced accordingly.
Team Management:
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior actuaries in the local statutory and capital management team, fostering capability building and ensuring quality delivery.
