AV (Audio Visual) Operator set up and run the sound and video equipment used to conduct live events such as DJ show, sports games, and concerts. They mix soundboards, play video recordings, enhance lighting, and coordinate graphics
Primary Duties:
- Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV/projection/lighting equipment, devices, and systems.
- Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in all outlet functions.
- Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational, repair or clean equipment when necessary.
- Label any broken equipment and communicate problems to manager/supervisor or Engineering to be repaired.
- Be present in the venue during high traffic periods and if an event is on-going to provide trouble-shoot assistance if necessary.
- Working closely with IT team in day-to-day operations.
- Communicate any additions or deletions to flowsheets to manager/supervisor.
- Provide clear instruction and assistance / how to operate certain equipment to MC / DJ / Band / performer.
- Break-down, remove, and secure equipment when not in use.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in AV setup, operation, and support for events, hotels, or venues.
- Basic to advanced knowledge of AV equipment (audio mixers, microphones, projectors, video switchers, lighting systems).
- Familiarity with event management software or digital signage systems is an advantage.
- Able to set up, test, operate, and dismantle AV equipment efficiently and safely.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- Proactive in preventing equipment failure and identifying improvements.
- Willing to work on weekends, evenings, or public holidays as needed.
