About the Role:
Air BP and AKR formed a joint venture which entered the aviation industry in Indonesia in 2017. The Joint Venture has two on-airfield fuel facilities to date and is currently in the process of constructing its third. One of the JV’s biggest challenges remains getting access to airports, which would then allow us to grow sales and build the business to a size where we could self-supply.
The role while part of the aviation AsPAC business is as the Air BP secondee into the joint venture as the President Director, working closely with our shareholder’s secondee and the JV team to manage, grow and advocate for the business.
Key Accountabilities:
Day to day general management of the business, including safe and reliable ops, financial management, people management, shareholder management and leading the strategy and long-term direction of the business.
Obtain competitive supply and supply chain access to key existing airfields and new airfields including both pre airfield and on airfield supply chains
Development of a plan to raise the profile and access of the Air BP business/brand within Indonesia to deliver on the shareholders’ goals to grow the business.
Advocacy for the joint venture, build strong relationships with stakeholders/authorities (e.g. airports, state oil companies) and national bodies (e.g. civil aviation, ministries) public and private institutions within Indonesia. This includes Government. Work with both shareholders Air BP and AKR to coordinate and leverage access of advocacy.
Maintain existing relationships with and identify new key industry stakeholders to build relationships with to advocate for the JV’s goals
Manage the necessary tax, legal, licensing, BP internal, resource and other requirements to allow the JV to operate in Indonesia and remains compliant.
Ensure compliance with the JV’s AoA and other governing documents, including preparation and briefing of BoC and Shareholder reps ahead of respective meetings.
Act as Air BP’s key conduct into the JV as a shareholder.
Key Requirements:
An experienced people leader, care deeply for people and their development and have a great team spirit.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate at both medium and senior levels internally and externally.
Language requirements: English and Bahasa Indonesia
Results oriented and self-motivated with a strong bias for action
Able to demonstrate creative and flexible mind-set
Proven cross-cultural relationship building experience in Indonesia.
Experience in safety leadership and operational businesses to keep people safe.
Deep commercial experience clear understanding of what drives revenue and costs management and how to grow businesses. Have good analytical skill and good with numbers with strong commercial acumen
Experienced in developing and implementing strategic plans covering both short-term and long-term business needs.
University Degree in Economics/Finance/Business Administration or alternatively in Engineering combined with an MBA
