About the Role
As a Business Lead for the Merchant Services Team in GoTo Financial, you will spearhead initiatives to drive business growth and optimize the product go-to-market strategy. Your primary focus will be on retaining the merchants by leveraging and introducing new use cases for merchants, ensuring seamless, user-friendly processes that enhance the overall funnel. Within the first six months, you’ll be instrumental in refining our merchant engagement strategies, leveraging key features and value propositions to deliver exceptional in-app experiences. This role offers a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with product, compliance, legal, operations, sales, and marketing teams to create innovative solutions that drive merchant success. Your impact will be pivotal in shaping the future of merchant services at GoTo Financial. The ideal candidate will have experience in business and product management, data analytics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Identify and define data-driven business opportunities within the merchant wallet team to drive growth, particularly by increasing the number of transacting merchants and retentive merchants.
- Translate business opportunities into clear problem statements, prioritize them, develop and implement go-to-market plans and strategies, and oversee product adoption by monitoring funnel conversion rates and merchant experiences throughout the process.
- Collaborate with research, design, product, and engineering teams to develop a truly merchant-focused product, pushing the boundaries of innovation.
- Continuously monitor the product lifecycle, making data-driven decisions to improve and refine the product.
- Engage with sales, operations, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for merchants.
- Analyze data to derive insights and make informed decisions that enhance merchant engagement and retention.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and strategies through feedback and data analysis.
What You Will Need
- 5+ years of experience: Demonstrated expertise in business and product knowledge and project management, with a proven track record of driving business growth and achieving targets.
- Strong sense of agency: Ability to navigate and create clarity in ambiguous situations, demonstrating proactive leadership and initiative.
- Problem-solving skills: Capable of breaking down complex problems, identifying use cases and solutions, and thriving in unstructured environments.
- Comprehensive understanding: Deep knowledge of data, design, research, and business processes, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Analytical and quantitative skills: Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to support requirements and features, with a strong focus on driving data-driven decisions. Excel and SQL proficiency is a must-have.
- Agile and adaptive thinking: Quick to respond to market changes, data, research, and merchant feedback, continuously enhancing overall experiences and metrics.
- Effective communication: Exceptional ability to articulate strategy, insights, priorities, and plans coherently to all levels of management.
- Meticulous attention to detail: Commitment to upholding high standards, and managing multiple competing priorities concurrently with minimal supervision.
