A Cafe Operations Officer oversees the smooth, efficient, and profitable day-to-day operations of a cafe, ensuring quality service, compliance with regulations, and a positive customer experience. They manage staff, inventory, finances, and marketing, while also focusing on improving efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
Managing daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to health & safety standards.
Staff Management:
Training, mentoring, and supervising staff, including baristas, cashiers, and other support staff.
Inventory Control:
Managing inventory, ordering supplies, minimizing waste, and ensuring sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
Financial Management:
Monitoring financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and implementing cost-control measures.
Customer Service:
Ensuring exceptional customer service, addressing complaints, and gathering feedback to improve the customer experience.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal compliance.
Marketing & Promotion:
Implementing marketing strategies to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
Process Improvement:
Identifying areas for improvement in operational efficiency, service quality, and profitability.
Collaboration:
Working with other team members, including managers and staff, to achieve common goals.

Skills and Qualifications:
Strong Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to motivate, coach, and supervise staff.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, customers, and vendors.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Food and Beverage Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations, menu planning, and coffee/tea preparation.

Experience in the Food Service Industry: Experience in a cafe or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
