Access World is a global freight & project forwarding and commodities warehousing company including logistics business. Active in more than 30 countries, we offer complete logistics, storage and supply chain solutions, tailor-made to our customer requirements for various commodities including metals and minerals, soft commodities, chemicals, renewables, oil & gas, project and general cargo. We are an approved warehouse keeper of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), and we provide warehousing and associated logistics and value-added service to traders, producers, financiers and consumers of non-ferrous and ferrous metals, ferroalloys and minor metals etc. Our worldwide offices and operations span across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe & Middle East, and US. Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance & Legal, Customer Service, and Operations.

Reports to the Commercial Manager, Freight & Project Forwarding, the highly motivated individual with the relevant skill sets, capable of establishing and developing vendor relationships in South East Asia, including carriers, transporters/brokers and port operators etc.; Procurements of transport, warehousing and ocean freight rates locally and internationally for both import and export cargoes including full hands-on operational support where required; Execute shipment from customer and maintain good relations with specific focus in Clearing and Forwarding.

Duties will include but not limiting to:

  • Actively participate as a member of AW Indonesia and regional SEA teams, working closely with other Commercial and Business Unit Managers within South East Asia and other Access World entities globally
  • Attend networking and directing customers enquiries
  • Request rates from service providers and assist Business Development Manager & Commercial Managers for all proposals compilation
  • Establish and develop vendor relationships in South East Asia e.g. with transporters, barge brokers/ carriers, container shipping lines and freight forwarders including full hands-on operational support where required
  • Maintain high standard of service delivery at all times
  • Outgoing personality to be able to communicate effectively with customers and build positive relationships
  • Must be able to resolve problems/queries efficiently
  • Address internal and external operational issues, liaise and coordinate with vendors (ports operators, transporters etc.) and internal customers
  • Ensure compliance to Access World Group Policies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superior
  • Reinforce Access World Group culture, values and reputation

Potential candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • Diploma or degree in business administration, logistics or a related field
  • Minimum 3-years of Sales Support / Customer Service / Operation experience
  • Excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair is critical to the success of this role
  • Strong builder of relationships with interest parties
  • Good knowledge of the shipping and logistics management industries specifically focused on:
    • Local and cross border transport
    • Air Freight, SEA LCL, FCL, OOG, BB, Part/Full Charter
  • Proven ability to work on cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Strong character, initiative, creative, innovative, proactive, a quick learner and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel with basic functions, including but not limited to IF, LOOKUP, PIVOT)
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and fast paced working environment meeting deadlines and/or beyond office hours
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience in 3PL/4PL logistics sector / Clearing & Forwarding / General Cargo / Mining / Renewable Energy / Oil & Gas / Project Cargo is preferred
  • Growth mindset and attitude
