Permanent, Full-Time Nanny | Chinese or German Speaker | Bali with Travel
Position: Full-Time Live-in Nanny
Location: Bali (with international travel)
Start Date: ASAP
Children: Three children – 10 months, 3 years, and 6 years old
Salary: €1,400–€1,800 per week (depending on experience), based on a 5-day working week
A warm, international family is relocating to Bali and is looking for a professional, energetic nanny to join them on a long-term basis. The nanny will primarily care for the baby and also support the two older children’s routines. This is a live-in position suited to someone youthful, organised, and hard-working, with a genuine love of children and a desire to grow within a family environment.
The family strongly prefers a Chinese-speaking nanny to continue supporting the children’s Mandarin learning, but they are open to German-speaking candidates with the right profile. Language development through daily routines, play, and creativity is essential to the role.
They are seeking someone with training in Montessori or other alternative pedagogies who can use positive discipline and emotional intelligence to create a calm, engaging, and respectful atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for the baby, adapting to developmental changes.
- Assist with morning and afternoon routines, including school drop-off/pick-up for older children.
- Create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for all three children.
- Plan play-based learning activities aligned with Montessori or alternative approaches.
- Encourage language acquisition in Mandarin (or German) through play, music, and conversation.
- Model and guide respectful behaviour using positive discipline methods.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with parents.
- Support the family’s travel plans and adapt to different routines when abroad.
- Maintain organisation and cleanliness in child-related areas.
- Be open to medical screening if requested (e.g. drug and alcohol testing).
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 5 years' experience working with babies and young children in private households.
- Hold qualifications in childcare, early education, psychology, or a related field (preferred).
- Have completed Montessori, Pikler, Waldorf or similar training (preferred).
- Be youthful, proactive, and enjoy travelling.
- Speak fluent Mandarin Chinese (strongly preferred) or German, with fluent English essential.
- Bring a calm, kind, and professional approach to daily routines.
- Blend seamlessly into the family environment while respecting privacy.
This position would suit a vibrant, curious nanny who is youthful, yet brings ample experience and knowledge, and is committed to long-term work in private households. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in new cultural environments, has a strong interest in alternative education, and is passionate about helping children learn through play, especially in language development.
