Hopefully, you! We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Product Specialist & Quality Assurance Manager to join our People team in Semarang. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bringing thoughtfully designed furniture ranges to market, effectively managing detailed product specifications and will drive quality control and cost efficiency of all product support processes. The Product Specialist & Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with the Head of Product Development and Head of Product Management in Australia and the local Indonesian team.
The Product Specialist & Quality Assurance Manager’s key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure technical specifications are integrated into internal workflows and easily accessible to suppliers and internally
- Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain product integrity and consistency
- Establish and continuously improve Quality Assurance systems, policies, and procedures for raw materials, in-process production, and final furniture products
- Supervise quality inspections at various production stages (incoming materials, in-process, pre-shipment)
- Support with projects related to sustainability packaging and waste management, executing any required changes
- Working closely with the Product Management team as well as the Production Admin to oversee and execute NetSuite code creation and field management
- Monitor and manage production costs to ensure profitability and target product margins are met
- Partner with Marketing to develop effective furniture resources and online content
- Work with L&D to ensure sales and customer service teams receive product launch collateral in line with product launch timelines
Requirements
We need you to bring…
- A minimum of 5 years in a quality assurance role in the furniture industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- A track record of experience in furniture production/retail.
- Familiar with furniture construction methods, materials, finishing, and upholstery. Experience working with materials such as fabric, webbing, rope, stone and compact laminate
- Good understanding of export and import regulations, experience working across international supply chains.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of international quality and safety standards for furniture. Attention to detail and a hands-on approach to quality management.
- Strong analytical capabilities in pricing and cost management
- Proficient English communication skills (Verbal and written)
- Project management minded, with the ability to thrives working with others, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel for factory visits and audits
