Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender.
Since 1998, Wahana Visi Indonesia has carried out various community development programs focusing on children. Hundred thousands of children in Indonesia have been benefited from WVI’s accompaniment program. Wahana Visi Indonesia is a trusted partner of World Vision International.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible to manage and implement the Project activities through planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring successful delivery of specific project goals, outcomes, and outputs in line with Wahana Visi Indonesia’s standard.
WASH for Lives and Livelihood Project is a 12 months project implemented by Wahana Visi Indonesia with financial support from the We Are Water Foundation, assisted by World Vision Spain. This project aims to improve health and living conditions for South Nias Program Area community members through increased access to clean water supply and livelihood opportunities related sanitation/hygiene services by 2021.
The strategy will ensure equitable access to water in both quantity and quality, which prevents disease and sustains lives and livelihoods, reducing environmental health risks by managing sanitation safely and with dignity, and involving women and men in managing water and sanitation resources and safe hygiene practices to maximize the benefits for their communities.
Strategy Development & Planning
- The Project coordinator will be responsible to achieve the project objectives by coordinating the construction of clean water facilities and communal septic tank, sanitation and hygiene trainings and campaigns at the targeted communities.
- The Project coordinator will be responsible in delivering the project activities to achieve the goal. Develop project strategy and master plan align with WVI national WASH and Health Strategy
- Plan and implement effective initiatives in order to achieve performance targets as stated in project proposals/designs. He/she will lead the assessment, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities in targeted community and collaborate with the government and related stakeholders.
Resource Acquisition & Management
- The Project coordinator will be responsible with the financial and project management of this project.
- Work cooperatively with finance officer to develop and monitoring budgets and also all supply chain management to comply with the procedures and SOPs (in line with Wahana Visi Indonesia’s standard).
Capacity Building
- Through Trainings of Trainers (TOT), build capacity of field facilitators, local health workers, water committee and community health volunteers, project partners and other related stakeholder on CBTS in order to improve the community’s knowledge and practice on Health, Sanitation and Hygiene
- Conduct workshops and hygiene campaigns at the district level that involve BPBD, Puskesmas and schools to raise public awareness on STBM
- Develop manual, training module or IEC materials on STBM in cooperation with Wash Specialist and Communications team
- Coordinate and monitor the construction of Water and Sanitation facilities
- Contribute to the organizational learning for Wahana Visi Indonesia, by utilizing and disseminating lesson learning taken.
Accountability & Quality Assurance
- Conduct effective monitoring & evaluation in order to produce good documentation and well-coordinated reporting system, and documenting lesson learned
- To ensure all required reports are submitted on time, accurate, and complete in line with Wahana Visi Indonesia’s standard.
- Identify and monitor all potential project risks and plan for actions to mitigate the risk and its impact to the project performance.
- Conduct field visit to project sites for monitoring, provision of hands-on support and quality assurance.
Networking & Coordination
- Build relationship with partners, stakeholders, donors and funding agencies to support effective project activities
- Build collaboration or partnering with other advocacy institutions to leverage health, hygiene and sanitation practices
- Work closely with Local Government such as BPBD, Health Centres and Posyandu cadres and other potential partners in district levels and other potential partners to implement project activities.
Management & Leadership
- Work closely with AP Manager in South Nias to define the project scopes and ensure the alignment of project activities with AP’s ongoing activities including mobilize AP’s resources to deliver the expected deliverables with high quality standard.
- Developing Term of reference and budgets for the required project activities in close collaboration with Finance and Admin Officer
- Provide support for the Project Facilitators to define and manage the project scopes, including all activities required to deliver the expected deliverables with high quality standard
- Conduct advocacy strategy on STBM
- Lead the Construction of Water and Sanitation facilities at the targeted communities
- Build agreement on Water and Sanitation infrastructure and the facilities maintainance with local authorities
The Qualifications :
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Civil or Environment Engineering, Public Health, Health Science, Nutrition, Social studies or relevant background
- Min 3 Years experiences in Water Resource Management
- Min 2 Years Experiences in Project Management or Community Development programmes using participatory methods
- Min 3 years experiences in working closely with Local Government to support the development of WASH and Health policies and programming
- Having knowledge of water and sanitation is compulsory
- Having experience in assessing and designing water supply or other WASH construction is preferable
- Having knowledge in Health and WASH policies and practice in Indonesia
- Having experience in participatory planning
- Strong command of English (written and oral)
- Excellent in reporting and using Microsoft office
- Good Experience in development and advocacy initiative.
- Good Communication & Networking capacity and building relationships with local government.
