Job Description
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the hotel’s procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services that meet operational requirements. This includes developing and implementing purchasing strategies, sourcing quality products, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The role also involves ensuring compliance with procurement policies, coordinating with various departments to forecast and fulfill purchasing needs, and maintaining accurate records of transactions.
Qualifications
- Education: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or hospitality is an advantage but not required. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of purchasing or inventory processes is helpful. Willingness to learn about hotel products, suppliers, and procurement procedures.
- Technical Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with purchasing or inventory systems is a plus but not required.
- Organizational Skills: Good organization and time management skills. Able to handle multiple tasks and keep accurate records.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Able to work well with others and communicate clearly. Willing to support various departments and build good working relationships with suppliers.
