What You Will Do:
- Take responsibility for the overall availability and reliability of the system, ensuring robust monitoring is in place.
- Provide feedback on architecture and approach, guiding teams to make data-driven decisions.
- Implement code and conduct code reviews.
- Design systems within a microservices architecture.
- Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Work autonomously to create and execute a vision that propels the product ahead of competitors.
What We Are Looking For:
- 3+ years of relevant backend engineering experience, proficient with languages and frameworks, preferably Golang or Ruby on Rails.
- Expertise in SQL and database design.
- In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts.
- Proficient in using Git.
- Proven experience in system design and building systems from scratch.
- Ability to maintain and scale systems effectively.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Interest in being groomed for a leadership role within the team.
Nice to Have:
- Interest in financial systems, security, and financial crime.
- Experience working with large legacy production codebases.
- Relevant experience in payments, retail, or consumer financial services.
- Experience developing in a zero-downtime CI/CD environment.
- Ability to read and write frontend code is a bonus.
