Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef specializing in Chinese Cuisine to join our culinary team in Bogor, Indonesia. As the Chef - Chinese Cuisine, you will be responsible for creating authentic and innovative Chinese dishes while leading our kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
- Develop and execute menu items that showcase authentic Chinese flavors and techniques
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Manage inventory, control food costs, and minimize waste
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and culinary traditions
- Collaborate with the management team to create seasonal menus and special promotions
- Maintain quality control and consistency in all dishes served
- Participate in menu planning and recipe development to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food delivery
- Stay updated on current culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings when appropriate
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chinese cuisine chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen
- In-depth knowledge of Chinese regional cuisines, cooking techniques, culinary history, and traditions
- Expertise in Chinese cuisine preparation techniques and proficiency in using Chinese cooking equipment and utensils
- Strong menu planning and development skills
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with current food safety certification
- Excellent kitchen management and team leadership abilities
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for creating innovative Chinese dishes while maintaining authenticity
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
