Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender.

Key Responsibilities:
The objective of the Project Officer role is to support the Project Coordinator for project management in achieving the project's primary objectives, ensuring each phase is executed according to plan and targets, enhancing access to clean water services, and fostering community involvement for sustainable program impact in WASH sector. Aligning with our WASH Business Plan Strategy 2026 – 2030, this role acts as the frontiest person in developing sanitation market system model that benefits community to support children well-being.
Background SMART Project in Ende:
This project aims to enhance financial access to safe and affordable WASH services for low-income communities in Ende by strengthening the WASH market system. By improving the enabling environment, increasing entrepreneurial capacity, and promoting financial inclusion, the project will ensure sustainable and equitable access to WASH services.
To achieve this goal, the project will focus on three key outcomes:
This project aims to enhance financial access to safe and affordable WASH services for low-income communities in Ende by strengthening the WASH market system. By improving the enabling environment, increasing entrepreneurial capacity, and promoting financial inclusion, the project will ensure sustainable and equitable access to WASH services.

1. Strengthened Enabling Environment – The project will work closely with government stakeholders and financial service providers to develop supportive policies, regulations, and financial mechanisms that facilitate WASH investments for low-income communities. Increased collaboration will create a more inclusive and resilient WASH market.- 2. Empowered WASH Entrepreneurs – Local WASH entrepreneurs will receive capacity-building training, improving their ability to provide affordable and innovative WASH products and services. Additionally, they will be linked to financing schemes, ensuring sustainable business growth while addressing the WASH needs of low-income households.
- 3. Increased Community Awareness and Uptake of WASH Financing – The project will implement behavior change campaigns to enhance public awareness of affordable WASH financing options. By empowering households with financial literacy, communities will be better equipped to access and utilize available financing schemes, ensuring long-term improvements in WASH services.
Through these interventions, the project will establish a sustainable and inclusive WASH market that enhances financial accessibility, strengthens local entrepreneurs, and ensures long-term sanitation improvements for underserved communities in Ende.
Strategy Development & Planning
- Support Data/Information related project in targeted area context for strategy development and planning.
Resource Acquisition & Management/ Engagement/Project Management:
- Work together with Coordinator to ensure the project complies with all the requirements mandated by the donor.
- Work together with AP Manager and technical specialist to develop proposal for extension funding opportunities or project scale-up.
- Ensure cost-effective and efficent use of resources
Capacity Building/ Technical works
- Identify potential partners to strengthen WASH market system
- Assess community’s financial capacity and access to finance for WASH-related purposes.
- Provide capacity building to partners and communities in basic WASH-related knowledge, WASH services, WASH market system, and WASH financing
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including the government and private sector to develop a business model for WASH financing.
- Conduct advocacy efforts to ensure local government’s policy and budgeting support the improvement of WASH services
- Provide capacity building to field staffs, local partner and communities in WASH-related skill and knowledge.
- Internalize and socialize WV core documents to direct reports if any.
- Create a Community Learning environment (including children and the marginalized) and encourage communities to share and learn from their own experiences as part of confidence and capacity building.
Accountability & Quality Assurance
- To ensure that program implementation meets organization and donor standard.
- Support achievement of standard quality of program
- To submit monthly reports on agreed date that contains narrative and tracking table and analysis of the achievement
- To make sure the project activities are implemented according to business process / mechanism and ensure AP’s BP / mechanism is amended when needed.
- Contribute on Semi Annual and Annual Report writing
Networking & Coordination
- Communicate effectively Wahana Visi Indonesia identity, mission, vision, values and our approach to work in ways that are contextually appropriate and clear.
- Develop linkages/networks and dynamic relationships with all stakeholder that related with project implementation at AP level.
Management & Leadership
- Submits periodical/ monthly accomplishment report
- Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department
- Provide Christian value and support to enrich the organization's life, faith, Christian commitments and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve.
- Be a role model and inspiration in managing work, communication and relationship with internal staff and external parties.
- Manage all risks related to SMART Project according to organization policies, guidelines, and standard. This includes risks in fraud, safeguarding, and other related risks.
Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Public Health, Economic and Business, Development Studies, Social Works, and other relevant fields
- Certification in WASH-related skill will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Coordinator specializing in WASH, Health, or Economic Development programs
- Experienced in managing Field Facilitators and Project Officers
- Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia as native language, and English communication is highly valuable, or equal with TOEFL Score 450
- Ability to move freely, both indoors and outdoors, to conduct site visits, meetings, and other activities related to the job responsibilities.
- Awareness and commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, considering the demanding nature of travel and fieldwork.
- Skilled in using MS Teams, Zoom, e-mail and other applications. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
