About the Role:
As an Indonesian Teacher for Adult Non-Native Speakers in Jakarta, Indonesia, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and effective Indonesian language lessons tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of our adult learners. Your primary goal will be to foster a supportive and interactive learning environment where students can develop their Indonesian language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
All classes will take place on-site in Jakarta, Indonesia during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
**Please note that this position is not yet funded. We are seeking applicants for an anticipated future position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the curriculum objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Facilitate dynamic and interactive Indonesian language classes, incorporating a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and cultural exchange among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, program improvement, and assessment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Indonesian language.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Indonesian language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in teaching Indonesian to adult non-native speakers, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of language teaching methodologies and strategies, including communicative language teaching (CLT) and proficiency-based instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse learners and create a supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity in lesson planning and delivery.
- Certification in Indonesian language teaching.
- Located in Jakarta, Indonesia and able to commute for in-person teaching.
