Designing, developing, and integrating software solutions to support smart manufacturing initiatives using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. This role focuses on real-time data acquisition from production equipment, device connectivity, and system integration with enterprise platforms such as MES, ERP, and serialization systems. The IoT Engineer contributes to process automation and operational efficiency by implementing industrial-grade software solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 standards.
- Develop and implement software solutions for IoT devices within manufacturing environments.
- Design system architectures that enable data acquisition, processing, and transmission from industrial devices to cloud or on-premise platforms.
- Integrate sensor and machine data into MES, ERP, and analytics systems.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and operational stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements.
- Write and maintain code, APIs, and technical documentation for custom IoT applications.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of IoT device connectivity and data communication.
- Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting for deployed solutions.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum squads to deliver iterative and collaborative development.
- Provide technical support during implementation and post-production phases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in software development, preferably within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or C/C++ for IoT development.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus) and API integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and edge computing architectures.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs, or industrial sensors is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams using tools like Git, Jira, or Jenkins.
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills.
