About the opportunity
Reporting directly to the Finance Director and with a dotted line to the Site Operations Director, the Plant Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of the Manufacturing Plant. This role requires a strategic business partner who can provide financial insights and support to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cost accounting, fixed asset accounting, treasury, cash management, Tax Compliance (VAT, Withholding Tax, and CIT), internal controls, and statutory matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Site Operations Manager, participating in staff meetings and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
- Oversee the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, ensuring accurate tracking and analysis.
- Drive the business plan to achieve and surpass performance metrics, profitability, and business goals.
- Prepare Financial Statements and year-end audit schedules.
- Assist the Site Operations Manager with plant performance, manufacturing variances, and cycle count accuracies.
- Enhance accounting policies and procedures to improve general ledger operations, internal controls, and IFRS compliance.
- Oversee annual capital investment forecasting, monitor capital projects, and manage fixed asset control and reconciliation.
- Coordinate and support special projects and ad hoc analysis.
Key Challenges:
- Ensuring timely and accurate accounting and reporting in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Analyzing the financial impact of changes in Bill of Materials.
- Developing realistic forecasts and standard production rates.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on financial matters.
What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Professional Degree in Accounting or Finance Field (CPA or CMA) preferred
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, and Costing
- in the Consumer Goods industry. Those with relevant experience in the Dairy or food industry will have a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
