Summary
Responsible for overall projects, including Marketing, Engineering and Construction and Maintenance, ensuring compliance with quality & safety standards and engineering codes to fulfill clients’ expectations within delivery lead time and budget. Manages the strategic aspects of all project engagements and mitigates any risk. May have a wide range of different projects on the go at the same time, all at different phases of development in the local and/or regional markets.
Duties
- Assesses project feasibility, productivity and ROI ensuring the risks and assumptions are well defined, communicated and proactively managed.
- Provides valuable analysis and project design proposals to business owners and site senior management.
- Establishes and maintains overview of project finances to achieve maximum value for money.
- Ensures engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures take place for all practice engagements by enforcing standard policies and procedures.
- Reviews status reports of Project Managers and Senior Managers and addresses issues as appropriate, lending expertise to internal teams and task forces.
- Prepares bid proposal (both technically and commercially) for major projects (local & overseas), and provide guidance to local projects to a group of project managers & senior managers for bid proposals, and clarifications. Manages the negotiation of contract pricing when necessary.
- Maintains lasting client relations, delivering superior solutions by communicating effectively with them to identify needs, evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies, and explore future business opportunities.
- Works closely with project management team to continually define ways to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Sets and manages departmental budget ensuring spending within approved limit and company policy, and submits timely & accurate periodic financial report for management review.
- Staff supervision, recruitment, training & development, performance management & discipline.
- Contributes towards the development of risk management procedures, processes, policies, and practices.
- Ensures compliance of the company’s SOPs, Quality, HSE policies, and code of business ethics to eliminate non-conformance and re-works.
- Performs any other duties as and when assigned by the company.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Experience & Education
Degree or MBA in any relevant Engineering discipline and more than 10 years of related experience, with extensive knowledge on project management, preferably in the renewable energy industry. Extensive experience managing large-scale renewable energy projects valued at $1 billion or more.
- Strong strategic, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Basic proficiency in Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
- Understanding of Chinese and Indonesian business cultures is a strong bonus.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
Accountability & Decision-Making
Works closely with other departments to develop and implement strategies to achieve project deliverables within budget, schedule, safety and quality standards. Accountable for the overall project deliverables. Decisions made will have a significant impact on the department/company’s performance.
Supervisory Responsibility
Work involves direct supervision of a team of managers & senior managers providing guidance and coaching, as and when necessary. Directly responsible for their performance management and discipline.
Supervision Required
Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them. Develops procedures on area(s) of responsibility but does not necessarily have final authority for approving.

Interface with others / Communications Skills
Interface between project owners and external contractors, as well as internal staff on project deliverables or bid clarifications which may involve communicating difficult/sensitive information. May also be required to interpret technical or functional communication and transfer that information in a different way. Needs to be tactful, persuasive and assertive in order to influence their behavior, change an opinion or turn a situation around in order to meet project deliverables.
Working Environment
Job will generally be performed in an office environment with no unusual physical demand. However, may be exposed to external weather changes and varying site conditions, with the need to walk and climb, and the discomfort of wearing required safety equipment, such as hard hat and safety shoes during field/site investigations. There are the typical dangers involved in reviewing construction sites from falling objects, moving equipment, etc.
