Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Operations Specialist to lead the management and maintenance of our company's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems, including servers, networks, and cloud environments. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with a deep technical expertise and strong leadership skills to mentor junior team members and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including servers (physical and virtual), network devices, storage systems, cloud-based services and CCTV.
- System Uptime & Performance: Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and ensure high availability. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, conduct regular security audits, and manage user access to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Incident & Problem Management: Act as an escalation point for critical IT issues. Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical problems, documenting root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and support to junior IT staff. Conduct training, share knowledge, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT operations team.
- Project Management: Plan and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for all systems, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an IT Operations Specialist or a similar senior-level role.
- Extensive knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
- Strong expertise in networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall management.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, CCNA, MCSA) are highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
