Smelter Operation Readiness - Marketing Manager

The Purpose of this position :

This position is principally responsible for ensuring market access for all finished products and byproducts from PTFI downstream smelting and refining operations. it is also responsible for providing domestic market intelligence, and client development for PTFI downstream products. This position will evolve over time as the smelter project transitions from project to operating entity. Close interaction with PTFI Government Relations Group is essential.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are :

1. Responsible for ensuring all products from the Manyar Smelter, Cu Refinery and Precious Metals Refinery have market access with focus on domestic Indonesian market. This includes meeting clients and gathering customer needs and requirements and collaborating with customers and PTFI to match product attributes to market needs.
2. In support of the FCX Marketing team, responsible for managing the market and business product sales needs of PTFI, initiating pre-production offtake agreements on critical products and assisting in forming a sales plan/strategy.
3. Monitor domestic market conditions and provide intelligence that will help drive strategic sales plans for PTFI refined products in domestic market. Closely coordinate with Government Relations in engaging with local clients especially when engaging with SOEs.
4. Provide feedback and coordination with operations, logistics and compliance teams to ensure sustained access to market. Convey client needs as well as market and regulatory guidelines to keep products in line with standards.
5. Coordinate with sales execution team to ensure sales terms and conditions are properly administered; serve as primary contact for domestic customer base.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field and At least 10 years of experience in metal mining marketing and sales.

• Masters degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred but not mandatory
• Having experience in Logistic and Supply Chain is preferrable

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Familiarity with SAP

• Experience in managing diverse employees

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and is a self-starter

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other office business applications.

• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

• Written and verbal skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
