Ensure the qualification and approval of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) in accordance with project standards and requirements.
Implement and oversee a system for controlling welding consumables, ensuring adherence to protocols during issuance and usage at the site.
Identify and develop appropriate welding procedures tailored to the project's materials and joint configurations.
Plan and establish welding sequences for structures to mitigate or manage distortion effectively.
Act as a primary point of contact for addressing welding-related issues with clients and classification bodies daily.
Maintain and update lists of qualified welders specific to project modules or requirements.
Monitor the calibration of welding equipment and inspection instruments to uphold accuracy in welding operations and inspections.
Conduct regular surveillance inspections to ensure compliance with welding procedures and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities at the site.
Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective measures related to welding and NDT issues.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in any engineering/Science discipline/Industrial field.
Relevant Certification (Welding Engineer IWE/IIW Certificate holder and NDT Level 3 Certificate Holder).
5 years of inspection experience in a shipyard, oil & gas industry, or related field.
Familiar with standards and codes for all Classification societies' requirements.
Should be conversant with applicable inspection, testing techniques and standards.
Good command over English language and effective communication skills.
