Position Purpose
The Manager, People & Culture, Indonesia, is responsible for partnering with local entity Directors, Subsector Country/Regional Leads and Regional Directors and teams to provide expert advice and guidance on Indonesia People & Culture (P&C) solutions in line with business needs. This position focuses on enabling business outcomes regarding sustained revenue growth, profit growth, operational efficiency, and a culture of flexibility and adaptability through tailored P&C advice and guidance that is aligned with business priorities.
The Manager, People & Culture, Indonesia, has a significant focus on collaborating and consulting with the business, including facilitating horizontal and vertical networks to enhance business performance.
This position provides advice across all P&C specialty areas, including culture, talent management, compensation, benefits, payroll, governance, diversity, employee and industrial relations, employee database on Workday, compliance, work and business visas, organisational and resource planning.
The incumbent will role-model the SJ Group's values, ethics, and code of conduct, and ensure that all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.
Key Accountabilities
- Provides advice by business partnering to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development of employees, including developing and executing P&C strategy that is aligned with SJ Group’s Strategic Action Plan;
- Provides strong advice covering all P&C specialty areas including culture, talent management, compensation, benefits, payroll, governance, diversity, employee/industrial relations, compliance, work and business visas, organisational & resource planning, organisational change management and/or other services;
- Provides well-researched recommendations and solutions to resolve business issues, including contributing to the development and implementation of new policies, compliance, practices and programs to meet organisational needs.
- Contributes to the commercial success of projects and the team; Supports the Director, People & Culture, Southeast Asia and Pacific in implementing local, regional and global initiatives. Effective management of nominated direct reports to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, ideally in a generalist or business partnering P&C role within the engineering, professional services industry;
- Establish internal client networks with proven ability to develop and maintain trust;
- Manage a team of direct reports;
- Build trusting and strong client relationships.

- Consulting, negotiation and facilitation skills in the context of resolving P&C related issues;
