Location Overview
Join our team in Amankila. Claiming a breathtaking stretch of coastline on the Lombok Strait, Amankila rests on a lush hillside beneath sacred Mount Agung. Connected by frangipani-lined walkways through the treetops, stilted suites offer spectacular views high on the hillside, while a three-tier infinity pool cascades at the property’s heart and the Beach Club leads to a private black-sand beach.

Role

The Regional Director Aman Indonesia & General Manager of Amankila holds responsibility for the entire resort operation of Amankila, additional to overseeing the other four properties in Indonesia and the boat, Amandira. Reporting to the Managing Director APAC, the individual leads the team to operational excellence and delivers exceptional guest experiences, through ensuring colleagues are well informed and engaged, whilst focusing on revenues and maximising financial performance. In line with the value of Celebrating Communities, it is paramount that the Regional Director & General Manager is an active part of the local community.

General Manager Responsibilities

  • Develops an operational strategy that is aligned with the Aman Group business strategy and leads its execution. Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.
  • Keeps operations teams focused on the critical components of operations to drive guest satisfaction and the desired financial results; makes and executes key decisions to keep property moving forward towards achievement of goals.
  • Champions the Aman vision for product and service delivery and ensures alignment amongst the property Leadership team.
  • Is highly visible and interfaces with guests on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction.
  • Creates appropriate development plans and develops colleagues based on their individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities. Ensures the same is done for all managers in the property.
  • Suggests innovative marketing ideas to gain market share.
  • Ensures operations team has a sales strategy with aggressive goals and motivates individuals to achieve these goals and maximize performance.

Regional Director Responsibilities

  • Sets and drives the company’s vision, mission, and long-term strategic goals, ensuring full alignment with the overall corporate strategy for the region and guiding all initiatives towards achieving them.
  • Leads the organization through periods of growth and expansion, identifying new markets, exploring acquisition opportunities, and driving new revenue streams to ensure sustainable business success.
  • Oversees operations across all five properties and the boat, maintaining consistency, quality, and operational excellence while continuously optimizing processes and performance.
  • Leads and manages the Regional Corporate Office, ensuring it operates efficiently, effectively, and in line with corporate values and strategic priorities.
  • Ensures robust financial performance, including managing budgets, forecasts, and profitability, while applying strategic financial insights to achieve both short-term and long-term fiscal goals.
  • Champions best practices in hospitality, focusing on elevating service delivery, enhancing guest experiences, and implementing operational improvements that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Builds, develops, and leads a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional development to ensure peak team performance.
  • Protects and elevates the company’s brand, ensuring adherence to service standards, quality assurance, and fostering a positive market reputation through strategic branding initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with the Corporate Marketing and Sales teams, developing and executing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and accelerate business growth.
  • Represents the company externally, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, industry leaders, and the local community to build and maintain a positive, impactful presence.

Requirements

  • You are a visionary leader with a strong background in managing small to mid-size ultra-luxury resorts.
  • You have minimum of 15 years of experience in hotel management, ideally with previous experience in a regional role.
  • You have a proven international track record and ideally worked in Indonesia which is beneficial to understanding the unique demands and nuances of this region.
  • You are a charismatic ambassador for the region, setting the highest standards of personal presentation and are able to uphold the reputation of the properties in your region through a quality-driven, guest-focused approach.
  • You are a strong operational, highly organised leader who is visible in the business and enjoys interacting with guests and our colleagues. In addition, you will be skilled at building relationships with external stakeholders.
  • In addition to a deep understanding of luxury, you are a strategic thinker, adept at identifying growth opportunities and fostering innovation.
  • You will possess strong commercial and financial acumen to ensure top and bottom-line performance and act with integrity.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
