The purpose of this position:
Analyzing and optimizing the supply chain and logistics operations of inbound & outbound (rotables & returns) of maintenance and operating suppliers. Work towards improving process efficiency, reducing costs, and minimizing transportation and lead time. This involves collecting and analyzing data, forecasting demand, planning logistics operations, assessing risks, managing suppliers and vendors, and driving continuous improvements as directed by Manager, Global Supply Chain, Manyar Smelter and Gen. Supt, Shipping & Offsite Exim, Jakarta.
By ensuring the smooth and cost-effective movement of materials and products, this position plays a crucial role in optimizing the company's offsite logistics, supply chain and enhancing overall operational performance.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position:
- Analyze logistics data, generate reports, and present findings that support decision-making and process improvement by doing relevant data extraction from various sources, conduct in-depth analysis, and identify patterns, trends, and insights to optimize logistics processes and decision-making and elaborate all important data into reports or dashboards; this includes to ensure that the reports or dashboards visually represent complex logistics data using graphs, charts, and insights, making it easier for stakeholders to comprehend and interpret the information effectively.
- Monitor aging in-transit inventory in SAP and ensure that those items are properly transacted in SAP to keep track and resolve potentially lost in transit items in the system.
- Working closely with the Global Supply Chain Manager, Manyar Smelter and Gen. Supt, Shipping & Offsite Exim, Jakarta to identify areas for improvement in logistics processes, such as transportation, offsite consolidation process by 3PLs, and documentation flow, and jointly developing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs; this also to develop and maintain monitoring of transporters, carriers and 3PLs performance to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Provide data-driven recommendations and action plans based on insights obtained from data analysis, aiming to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall logistics performance, then present these recommendations to management and gain their support for implementation.
- Provide evaluation for offsite export-import processes, identify bottlenecks and potential incompliance. Jointly recommend improvements that streamline customs clearance, documentation, and compliance procedures; This need incollaboration with Manager, Global Supply Chain, Manyar Smelter and Gen. Supt, Shipping & Offsite Exim, Jakarta.
- Perform validation process of freight invoices and ensuring freight forwarders are paid timely.
The key challenges in this position:
- Ensuring data quality and accuracy to provide meaningful insights for logistics operation. This includes to deal with a large volume of data from multiple sources and integrating it into a single system for the analysis. The logistics analyst also needs to work with the Senior Logistic analysts to provide report and insights in timely manner.
- Managing data security, privacy and confidentiality to protect companys intellectual property, secrets and other proprietary information. Need to avoid unauthorized access or exposure to the company information that can lead to financial losess, loss of competitive advantage, and reputational damage.
- Identifying and developing appropriate and easy-to-understand data visualization to communicate insights to stakeholders effectively. This also involves the development of predictive models to forecast demand and optimize logistics operation. Managing stakeholders expectations and requirements around the use of data analysis end ensure they are aware of its potential benefits and limitations. The logistics analyst also need to ensure data-driven decision making is balanced with the insights and knowledge gained through experience.
- Maintain knowledge with the latest regulations, policies, procedures and identify gaps related to the company logistics operation to ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations. He/she must have a thorough understanding of the relevant laws and regulations and work closely with his/her supervisor to ensure that logistics operations are aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Identify changes effectively, including addressing resistance to change, managing cultural differences, addressing technical challenges, managing resource constraints, providing training and development, and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Integrating and balancing new digital technologies and solutions into logistic operation to improve speed, efficiency and reduce cost while maintaining safety and quality standards. This includes to ensure all solution meet with budgetary constraint and reasonable cost-benefit analysis.
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
- Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Maritime or Business Management, IT/Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent with at least 3 years working experience in similarly relevant field.
- Experience with data analysis and the use of logistics-related software, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems ie SAP, S4/Hana, Ellipse, etc.
